Yo! I be Caesar the Bulldog and I have been guarding this little community since 1995. Most people thought I was just a watch dog in a screen saver. Little did they know!! Minibyte figured that since I have been the guard dog around here for a long time, I would know everything about the game and could fill ya in. Well, I and my buddies first appeared in late 1995. We were a small group as you can see from our houses. There were only five of us: A Big Dog, a Bulldog, a Chihuahua, a Scotty and a Terrier, As far as I can tell we were among the first virtual pet games and people were absolutely awed and thrilled to see us grow, play, do tricks and entertain them. Especially since we never got sick, never died and never did anything that required a pooper scooper!
Oh, wow.. the memories! Compared to what you have now, we were pretty limited back then. People could have only one pet at a time and I never got to see or play with my buddies.... We had a couple of playpen backgrounds and sometimes our owners would let us play on the desktop. I am so glad that people learned how to use desktop wallpapers to give us some interesting places to play! Speaking of play, we didn't have many toys either. There was a shoe to chew on and red ball. That was it! We did have three different kinds of treats, food and water. There was a spray bottle our owners could use for discipline. Naw... it never hurt us. A squirt just startled us when we were doing something wrong. It was useful in training petz and real life vets will recommend this for real life pets. Oh, we couldn't breed or mutate so there was a paintbrush that our owner could use to make us a different color.

Being limited to only five breeds and being able to have only one pet kinda bugged people after awhile and it wasn't long before they figured out how to hex some new breeds and to keep a pet instead of giving it up to adopt another. The P.F. Magic people didn't like game players messing with the breed files, but that never stopped anyone! OH! I almost forgot! It's nearly impossible to find the original Dogz game for sale anywhere. So, you need to check out the Dogz page in the Resources Section to find out how to play with my little buddies.
